A train from Paris Montparnasse to Pontorson, then a connecting coach to the Mont, all on one ticket.
The regional tourism board says this service runs every day from April to October and every weekend the rest of the year, with journeys from 3 hours 53 minutes. The latest published fare is €32 per adult each way (€18.30 for children aged 4 to 11), and ticket holders get a small discount on the abbey. Book it on SNCF Connect.
Can you go via Rennes instead?
Yes: take a TGV from Montparnasse to Rennes, then the Keolis Armor bus from Rennes bus station, which is timed to meet the trains.
The TGV takes about an hour and a half to two hours, and the bus about an hour and a quarter. The bus company strongly recommends booking online, and you cannot buy a ticket on board. It is a good option if you want to spend a night in Rennes or Saint-Malo.
Is driving to Mont Saint-Michel a good idea?
Only if you want to combine other stops: it is about four hours each way, and you park on the mainland and take the shuttle anyway.
Official car park rates in 2026 run from €14 for 24 hours in low season to €28 in July and August, with the first 30 minutes free. The shuttle from the car parks is free. A driver also misses the one advantage of a coach: sleeping on the way back.
